Sean was born and raised in Maple Ridge, BC, and later moved to Montreal in 2007 to attend McGill University. After studying at McGill for two years, Sean switched programs and schools, moving back to the west coast to attend UBC and study biological engineering. Sean graduated with his Bachelors of Applied Science in Chemical and Biological Engineering in 2013 with the support and mentorship of Tyler throughout his time at UBC. Sean is currently undertaking his Master’s Degree in Chemical and Biological Engineering, researching the ‘green’ electrochemical treatment of drinking water. Throughout high school and university, Sean trained and competed as a high level athlete competing in the Olympic sport of flatwater canoeing. Sean hopes to carry on Tyler’s dedication to the environment and sustainable energy research through his work with the Tyler Lewis Clean Energy Research Foundation.
